    Knock yourself out

The attitude of some bikers on the road really needs to be addressed.
We witnessed some unbelievable fucked up passing skills (if you can call it that) on SH16 yesterday.
Its no wonder some bikers die out there and on occassion take others with them.
One of our group had a bike overtake him while at the same time his dropkick mate on a ducati decided he was 'fucked in the head' enough to undertake him.
Imagine the brainsqueeze that would give you!
Good skills that our group rider held his line and not get spooked by the whole wank fest.
Passing on blind corners also, what sort of screwed mindset are some bikers riding under?

Fucking tell me about. Worse I've seen are biker gangs riding their Harley's and pretty much pushing on comming traffic out of the way as they overtake as a group. Of course who's going to pull them over and tell them off?

Though Boxing day races at Wangauni can be real bad as I lost count of the insane overtaking manouvers by bikers passing me. Seems when you get a whole lot of bikers gathered together that some weird mind set develops that makes some bikers feel the need to show off or try to ride faster then everyone else.

That's a bit harsh, Mark. To be fair, you weren't seeing things from the same angle, perspective and speed that they were. I'm sure things were well in control and totally safe.
    I mean - we're talking bikers here...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Probably the same ones who complain about the Cops picking on bikers...

Funny thing is that in 40 years of riding, I've never had any issues with the Police while riding my bike. Strange...

There have been bikers that have paid the ultimate penalty John after making (what seemed right at the time) turned out to be an error of judgement.
Undertaking another bike is (in my book) not the done thing...period.

it was pretty dodgy... if i had not heard the Ducati i would've pulled left as the guy overtaking me wasnt giving me that much room - im not used to having to check my left mirror before moving within my own lane... but you might be right, im sure the ducati guy had a plan B if i started to move over (e.g. the ditch)

You are flagged as having a really contagious rash on your man-parts. They will never pull you over big boy.

Agreed. It would be like giving your Mrs a wedgie. The consequences can be fatal.

Bugger there is no sarcasm smiley...I really thought it was obvious though.

I have witnessed this done to others and had it done to me. It is never good.
Katman is right, when he says there are too many idiots on bikes not doing any favours for the rest of us. And no matter how sensible and careful we are, as long as some bikers behave like these sterling examples, we will all be tarred with the reputation, with all the negatives that go with that.
I despair that it will ever change.

yeh, have to agree, when on my first group ride, I guess I was going a little slow or something, cause a rider undertook me, open road speed too, gave me a helluva fright, wasn't expecting it. talk about bloody dangerous!

I now check both mirrors when group riding, and if a rider is looking to pass, I move left it stops any thought of undertaking.

been passed on blind corners too, by riders, when I was driving a cage, not sure what the answer is to stop it, but as sure as eggs, bike riding is a great leveler, and soon or later this behavior will creep up, and bite them on the butt.

we had a similsr thing a couple of years ago coming back from the Vincent rally, we had a couple of young fellers on 250s with us so were traveling around 110ks when a group of arsehats riding harleys blasted through us, passing on blind corners etc only to see them stopped at the next pub down the road. Have to admit they were pretty badarse with their fresh out of the latest HD catalogue attire
