I hear what you are saying Voltaire - I'm not saying 100% of people in these pastimes - rather, I am saying they often make up an element, a small element.....

With an estimated 6% of the population aged between 13 - 45 in 2004 (116,000 people) having used Meth, we've got to expect some people to ride while under the influence......

Katman is right, when he says there are too many idiots on bikes not doing any favours for the rest of us. And no matter how sensible and careful we are, as long as some bikers behave like these sterling examples, we will all be tarred with the reputation, with all the negatives that go with that.
I despair that it will ever change.

Personally, I find group riding a bit gay(group riding says it all really), just like that whole "fellow bikers/brotherhood" yarn. You may find that you are being over taken because you are riding so damn slow youre pissing off others?. More than once I have got to a nice set of corners only to get stuck behind a "group" ride that is taking 65km corners at 55km/h.....seriously, somtimes its worse than camper vans.....

And you think that's a good reason to pressure others by tailgating? Or to overtake on the inside? Or to barrel round the outside on blind corners?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Where did I say it was OK to slow others up?
I agree it can be frustrating to be caught behind someone going much slower than you and/or is legal...
But it's not OK to ride like a cock by tailgating or cutting them off left or right.
It's not the overtaking - it is how it's done that is the problem.

The original incident that caused the discussion was about being "under" taken and over taken at the same time......doing the legal open road speed limit.

Yes it is OK to moan about such stupid behaviour by a motorcyclst doing such an idiotic thing.

I dont condone undertaking either, I am probably guilty of "tailgating" so that I can maximise available road for a quick overtake on some slow pokes. I dont make excuse for that though, I'm going to get out and back asap.....

Better not to get the poor chaps hopes up too high, eh..?

If I do have one fault it is modesty, I really should be more self-aware. Sometimes I simply forget how wonderfull I really am..
