    Big Blaster Performance

    Check this website out :
    http://bikepics.plant-tec-municipal.co.uk/biketest.htm

It covers a test of the ZX12R, ZZR1200, Hayabusa and Blackbird. They're the latest "restricted" UK models and testing was done in the wet, but still pretty impressive.

Insurance is a real bitch in the UK. A mate with a Blackbird in Manchester pays the equivalent of $2400 pa, fully comp with full no claims bonus at 47 years of age. And there are strong stipulations about how he garages it - anchored to the floor etc. Nothing too much to grizzle about over here eh?

You need to remember they are earning pounds too. $2400NZ is about 700UK. As they are earning that currency it's 700 notes to them, same as paying $700 here for insurance.

When I had my 888 there I was paying just over 500UK (Approx $1400NZ). age 32, 1 yrs no claims, garaged and alarmed not far out of Birmingham. You need to garage them etc because theft is a big problem.

I hear there is a big market in stealing unresticted eproms injectors etc when foreign bikes are in town. :confused2

How would that F%^& you off come out to your pride and joy ready for the next leg of your holiday to find the tank, loom and injectors gone. Happend to someone I know who was on Dutch plates, but it was not his bike, one he had borrowed from his father in law. He knows the were only after the unrestricted gear coz uk replacements were sitting beside the bike.

He reckons that sometimes they even fit the uk bits so that the owner will no the any the wiser for several days making it even harder to trace if you don't notice for several days / towns.
