There seems to be alot of bikes being stolen now days , I think the reason behind this is due to fuel costs , but come on people do it like the rest of us , Earn some money , Save it & get your own bike , the scum that is stealing shit is pissing me off

Yep reckon you're probably right. I even know a guy who's scooter was nicked and trashed then dumped - they even took his waterproof gear!!??!?

Not just yet, that's all they posted on their FB page, waiting to hear. But the bikes apparently are sign written as well. I'll post when there is more info

    Jeeeesus christ that's just nasty.
I mean, I can understand a couple thugs stealing a bike for some dosh, but a company ute with bikes attached?? Tis just wrong.
At least it'll be alot easier to spot with the signwritten details..

I *think* they are red/maroon Suzuki GN125's that's what they had when I did my BHS in January. They also have a red Hyosung 250 but I don't think that went on the ute. But will wait for the info to come through from them.

WTF?! A signwritten ute with bikes on the back isn't half conspicuous is it? The thieves were obviously idiots. Find them and cut their hands off!

I think they have quite a few bikes. There was a kymco and a GN125 on the ute when the girlfriend did her test. But i know they have used a GN250 before.

The ute isn't exactly tidy with rust here and there.

cutting their hands off will just entitle them to yet another benefit from the tax payer. Now cutting their benefits off

Good opportunity to nick 2 bikes though if they're already loaded up on a ute. They will probably end up dumping the ute once they get the bikes off. Unless someone can catch them first..

Lol you honestly reckon they are stealing bikes so they can save on fuel? These individuals most likely don't even pay for fuel. They are not poor students like us we are talking about here, rather low life crooks that are trying to part out the bikes and make $.

A workmate just said he saw cops on Symonds St in town stopping all bikes.. wonder if it's related to the thefts or if they're just being pricks

That's bloody shocking I was with Philip on Sunday doing my IAM observation ride and was admiring his set-up for learner training. Absolutely gutted that it had to happen to such a great guy, not to mention the impact on his business.

Edit: if you go to my blog about the experience, you'll see the ute in question 2 photos down, plus some of the bikes in the background. Ute has a ding on the nearside front wing behind the headlight. Just click on the photo to enlarge. http://geoffjames.blogspot.com/2011/...sterclass.html
