    GPS tracker for bikes

Does anyone have a GPS tracker installed in their bike(s)? What are they like? Very accurate etc.

I know in US they have the LoJack which tells ya where your car is, so the question is there something similar in NZ? Who installs 'em and how much?

Lojack is shite, they have better options in the States.

Have a look on Deal Extreme, they'll have what you want... about $90USD IIRC.

This has been discussed on KB before, and one post gave the SKU and details for a GPS tracker from Dealextreme.com

yup, just keep the bike battery topped up (they don't have their own), and keep the credit on the sim card topped up also, work bout as good as you would expect, and cheap as

    Thanks great review!

So you reckon it eats the battery? I see that post is nearly 2 years old anything else you found wrong with it etc? Still use it?

Eating the battery power makes it a huge no no for me.

There are newer batteries around that will come into play over the next year or two.

yeh, but I had a 250 so smallish battery, and it had more power saving settings available (detect vibrations and then check gps). Nah upgraded bikes and not as much space on my current one. I also have plans for a custom loom setup which includes gps tracking but haven't got round to building it yet.
