    Huffy & puffy

Any body ever actually use one of these?

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-369148103.htm

Saw a thread earlier about this but has anyone actually got one like it and does it work? Thought it would be good for the air bed (mainly) with the occasional tyre top up.

    Thanks

"Looks" similar to one I had O.K. for tyre top ups and would be alright for field repairs. But if you intend to pump up an air bed then be prepared for a loooooong wait, Better to get a foot pump or something

Just did a bit of a search, and...... this is what we use for the airbed http://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/red/ca...mp?SKU=1058765

I've got one - will pump up the air bed (if you're patient, it takes a while, and a bit noisy) and I've inflated tires with it. got my one from Supercheap about $30 IIRC
I've put a 12v outlet on the bike side panel for it.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Supersheap, great. Like to look at it and work out where in the pack it will fit, or what I can leave out

    Thanks

I bought the same thing from the warewhare for about $12. It lasted about 2 years and a dozen uses before it ran out of puff.

I have one kind of similar. Tried an airbed with it once. Hopeless. Plenty of pressure, but not enough volume. The car started overheating from idleing too long before I got it half up.

Used it when changing motorbike tyre. Hopeless. Took ages, and really struggled to set the bead. You can't beat a good blast of air like a real compressor with tank.

It now sits in the boot of the car, just in case the spare tyre is down if I get a flat. Probably alright for 'top ups'.

I had the warehaus one and it went for about 5 minutes before the piston detatched its self form the rod....I did rebuild it too run better but hardly use it now...what I do have is a 12v pump from hunting and fishing (its alot smaller too) it pumps up a Queen airbed in 3 minutes running of the bike and I just carry a adaption hose to pump up tyres

I've got one of these for the airbed

    http://www.kiwicamping.co.nz/kiwi_ca...1086,1222,1262

Works good, just chopped the cig lighter plug off and stuck on a two pin plastic connector to match the battery charger connector on the bike. No good for tyres though.

www.aerostich.com do a nice little unit, works well & worth the extra cost. The cyclepump costs US$110 ,Cycletreads do a little pump as well , I have one but it is not as good as the US item.
My unit pumps up my exped ,pretty slow & by the time i get it out set it up & then put it away it is just as quick to use the built in hand pump thingo in the exped, this also helps to build up a thirst,
