It wasnt too many fifth gear mile long xed up wheelies was it? cos that'll never be a problem for me...
No ideas as to why it went bang. '07 with 28,000kms - ish on the clock, a well maintained and looked after bike, and a nana rider too.... It shouldn't have farken happened!!!

its not even 4 years old, 28000k's. number 2 big end bearing failed, which then picked up on crank and proceeded to melt the fuck out of the conrod until it peeled apart like wet spagetti. Its obviously a manufacter/assembly fault, as the rest of the bottom end is mint, diagnostics show no faults due to lack of oil/oil pressure etc.

I'd have a word with a Triumph dealer - sure it's 2 years out of warranty but as you say it's obviously a defect and Triumph often do claims outside of warranty on a goodwill basis.

Its been assesed by a Triumph dealer who has also said it shouldnt of happened, and a claim was sent through to Triumph, and denied.

Sorry to hear that. Has the dealer pushed your case? I'd look to have an independent party assess the damage and probable cause and have the dealer lodge a "goodwill claim". I had an admittedly smaller issue (with a gear position sensor) which Triumph denied initially and then once a second goodwill claim was lodged with dealer support/endorsement, Triumph came to the party.

    Best of luck

Have a very careful read of the consumer guarantee act. Get a legal opinion if necessary. Can you prove it is a manufacturer / assembly fault ?

All claims are referred back to the UK but legal responsibility & liability rests with the importer & dealer.

    Good luck.

Haha, just a thought. Good luck tho, I will keep an ear to the ground but not really my usual line of business.
Oh, what sort of soap was that Stirts? Might need something to get rid of the flavour of the scones you made earlier!
