You won't get anything out of Triumph NZ, they are well known for being backward in coming forth.

Hey sorry to hear of the misfortune, best of luck getting it repaired.
Don't you look at my accountant.

As I said, that's not been my experience with my current or previous bikes.

That's comforting, my bike in a previous owners hands was a literny of issues with trying to get it fixed properly inside a extended period. And Hitcher's Aprilia experience. I'm silly enough to own 3 bikes imported by Tri NZ.

Maybe they have pulled their socks up.

Much of the vilification that I'm aware of seems to come from the owners of marques that fall under Triumph NZ's umbrella (rather than Triumph itself)

Spoke at length about my 1050s past with owner 1 (after I'd bought it from owner 2)

Grabbing my phone I send two texts…… “I OK, I broken down” and “bring van”

It was a silent drive home.

Some screws were un-screwed and covers un-cover their covered. And my world was shattered into small pieces like the shattered piston bits that lay on the garage floor The con-rod went postal I believe.
Missed this thread. Damn, damn damn! That sounds like consumer guarantees material.

On a different (non exhaust) note, skippa1 on here has had the misfortune of an off - if they write off his bike.... maybe a donor engine?

Not that this is a new idea.... but I just wonder whether you could contact various NZ insurers or auction houses and put your name down for a wrecked triple. I'm sure there is probably one every few months, where either due to cosmetic or frame damage (but not engine) you might be able to buy a wrecked bike for less than a brand new engine. Not sure what these sell for (then again - maybe a complete bike is more than an engine - would make sense).

At least you might be able to sight the bike first, rather than risking a bad overseas / ebay purchase.

    Damn, damn damn is right!!!

It certainly does sound a bit like that, considering the mileage we got out of that engine - or should I say lack there of. However, I am giving Triumph UK the benefit of the doubt and giving them a chance to respond to the letter I sent last week requesting they reconsider their initial decision to decline my “goodwill” claim.......watch this space.
