    Unhappy Crash flashback

Hey guys. Thanks a lot for a warm welcome to KB.
Got a strange question. Every time i go for a ride, and approach a corner that will require decent leaning, i get a muz###king flashback of my crash, and it makes me drop down the speed almost to 10km/h. No jokes. How the hell do i get rid of it? More riding? done 2.5 - 3k since that time (2009). Suggestions?

Please do not take this the wrong way, but get some sort of counselling. Not trying to be a smart arse at all, just seems there may be some sort of issues you need to address. All the best.

Just trying to think of who would do the counseling for that sort of crap?

Ride gently to start with. Ride the same road many times over until you know every bend and bump. Your problem might just lessen with time.

Maybe it is you haven't come to grips with what happened the first time and are really worried it will happen again.

Do a course with an instructor on a track, let them know the story, and they can concentrate on your cornering. It will give your confidence a good boost, a crash knocks your confidence in the bike, and a good advanced riding course will really help!

Sorry to hear this, if you think you would like to talk about it PM me, but I hope you get your confidence back.

I had something similar to this. I got hit by a car in 09 and whenever i ride in a 50 zone now where there are side roads I am real cautious. I slow right down every time I pass where I got hit, but I don't think that means there is anything wrong with me. I have ridden 2 bikes and 10000 k's since then, but I still don't feel too confident in 50 zones. I think you should just keep on riding, and make yourself feel comfortable with you're bike again. Once you have done that I reckon you should be fine.

How much riding had you done before your crash? 3000km isn't a lot since 09. Keep comfortable and keep at it. If you crashed on a little back road maybe try some long trips on SH1 or similar.

I doubt you need counselling. Just get some more miles under your belt. If you have to ride at almost 10km/h to feel comfortable then find somewhere you can do that. If you want to get back into it, you'll find a way. Get a routine going with a short ride on familiar roads each weekend or whenever you have time off.

kinda the same for me but its one of those things that sits in the back of my head,
i arrived at a accident scene(80-100kph), that took over the whole road mid corner i had no where to go so i ended go up a bank ,bike written off, pillion almost broken but all good apart from a major bruise on her bum :P
i tend to ride real slow around blind corners now fearing the (what if scenario)
