    Here in Bishkek early winter you will get a snowfall that when driven on does not turn to slush and melt, but forms a hard grey layer of ice. At time a layer of grit is spread on it and it remains there for most of the winter...In fact the roads here are that bad that a layer of winter ice is an improvement.
