bugga - thought I was in an 80k/hr zone....well it had been but the zone had been changed. I wrote and complained about no sinage where the zone had changed and within a month a new 50 km sign was put up.

I've seen a couple of rather persistent policeman doing high speed pursuits.
I'm fairly sure they were breaking the rules. One in particular was creating far more of a hazard on the road than the person he was pursuing.
He almost had two head on crashes going up SH16.
Would appear that some of those that enforce the law think they are above it.
Yeah, few coppers around my old area catching u-turners at checkpoints really didn't give a shit about what could've been around the corner. musta been 100 in a 50 zone to catch a u-turner, flying around blind corners and almost collecting me by a hair.
At least they're dedicated![]()
I wonder how much of a dead cert quota filler a u turner at a check point is?

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
When it comes to speed, I think as follows:
If I wanna speed, I do it where and when there is nobody else on the road.
I have no issue with me killing myself, but I do have an issue if I kill someone else.
That's about it really.
Hell, I don't always travel under 100km/hr. But I sure as hell don't so loony stuff on a crowded road.

Yes but you gotta separate the two infringements. The first is a licence infringement, travelling at more than 70kph. The second is exceeding the posted speed limit.
I got a 42kph speeding ticket once, but got off because it was written down as exceeding the speed limit, and I was not doing 142kph.
