That sounds like far too much fun! I'd love to do it but alas I can't ride now!

    Can I enter the MX5..?

Why isn't beach racing more popular and a regular scene? Maybe I could arrange it for Orewa Beach? 3km long and a perfect surface!

Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!

Jeez guys - Its just me at the moment then

Dont let this quote be your beach racing adventure story:-
"They said I should go for it, so in the end I went for it.
    - But when I got there it had gone..."

This is the 125th anniversary event/weekend. It may be another 125 years til the next one...

If not the beach racing - who's for the gravel hill climb?
Surely a more adv friendly weekend you could not find...

    Really?!

No one wants to do this?

    Anyone...?

    At all...

    Just me then...

I'd be kinda keen, beach racing was fun at the Burt, & would be more fun against a DR than just a gaggle of CR500+'s ...but got the NNLT next weekend & then a few too many weekend jobs piling up around the place unfortunately

    Cheers

Sounds great! Apart from the fact I have to work every weekend.

This event fits the bill of a moments inspiration I had watching the rallying on the box at the weekend. Timed gravel stages for road legal bikes with a few special sections chucked in for a laugh.

Looks like you wont be the only one getting their "moments of inspiration off the box"...
    ...or Youtube...

I understand though, having 2 kids under 3 I have to grab these opportunities when they come up.
I just thought a few more would want to grab them as well...

    (Sucks to work weekends though)

One day, one day I will get out in the big, wide world & get my bike dirty.

Snap....but I'll be using all my browny points on the Naki mud run. I'm more familiar with mud then sand anyway.

Would love to but Waitarere is a bit to far/expensive with the ferry etc.

Used to spend my childhood summers there at the family beach house. Great fun when the old man used to hoon along the beach and doing donuts in the mk7 Jag with us kids hanging out the sunroof waving toi tois around.

A bit more warning and I would love to do it if its on next year.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

Just checked The Emporium stock list and I see a Daytona brand rod type adjustable steering damper.

Yes but...... knowing it's there and actually laying your hands on it are two very different things

Bit like the bank climbing switch on the DR350?

According to the manifesto, the Daytona damper is in area 13b.2 which indicates it may be found to the right of the window on the beam with the GPS bits, 2nd in from the left.
