What's the deal with WOF re personal plate.
Apparently when you are ready to stick your wank plate (I admit it) on your bike you take old and new to the appropriate agent and they do the biz, including new license label.
But what about WOF?
Do you just keep the one you've got 'till the next one is issued normally?

You can take back to the place who gave you the wof and they will rewrite a new one...may cost ????
but I would just keep the papers in your jacket... it's all logged in the main computer anyway, no big deal as your old and new plate are still logged on file etc.

My plates arrived today, much faster than promised.
They seem to have changed the system, because what's happened is better than described.
The plates arrived with new license labels... and a warning that my vehicles have already been changed over and I could be fined for using them with the old plates still on.
i.e. I don't have to go to an agent and do any form filling.
Even the boxes the plates came in, can be reversed (inside out), so the pre-printed freepost thing and address become visible, and used to post the old plates back.
Seems much more sensible.
They still don't say what to do (or not) with the W.O.F.; which is a bit of a fail for someone like me (anal retentive, OCDish) who just wants to know (not guess, nor "get away with") things.

Why would there be an issue with the WOF? WOF and rego are two seperate things.

Shows how much attention i pay to the WOF labels! I would go back to the place you got your WOF from and ask for a new label.

Never worried about the wof when I did the plate for the Daytona,and its no problem when you do the next wof as its all recorded in the system.........
Actually how often can you see the back of the wof on a bike?????

as for handing the old plate in well that can be either posted or drop off too any post office or rego agent

no parking warden in their right mind (okay oxymoron i know) would drop you a ticket for failing to present a valid WOF if the WOF on the bike was some random plate number, and the plate presented on the bike was personalized. They would give you the benefit of the doubt.
Of course you have to remember the plate identification is written on the back of the Wof label, on a car usually facing inwards. if it's valid the ticket monkey certainly has no reason to check the credentials behind the label.
They'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Face it at the end of the day, the ticket won't stand as any rego lookup through any system on your plate will show the previous plates against that vehicle and wheer they changed over.

From my experiace with swapping my plates to several different vehicles over the years, Forget about updating the WOF till its due.The old plates are still logged on the system to the vehicle they were issued to.
A Corolla that my son had , had several changes from personal plates to normal plates over a 5 year period, by going to the rego check site, and quering the rego, it showed each change of plate, the number and when it was changed each time.
I have two personalised plate sitting in a draw in my flat, not used on any vehicles and have not been for 5+ years. they are my plates till I sell them or fit them to another vehicle. Ny third plate is on its third vehicle now.

The WOF that is on any vehicle does not have to be updated till the next test.
Records in the system will show the date it was issued and to what plate, but also show the change of plate date to a new plate if issued after the WOF test.
Dont loose any sleep over this, its just butterfly dust.
