'tis just such a pity when they screw you over about self-imploding engines though.

Assuming your talking about Hyosung,I find that really hard too believe considering the bike Simon Vollmer used for last season Has now done 10 race days and 15 test days with no more maintenance than regular oil changes and filters,That bike had done 26,000 ks when I got it,The bike my son Paul Billington rode to 2nd in the NZ championship had done 52,000 ks before we turned it into a racebike and has done in excess of 15 days at race pace, In fact out of the 4 bikes we ran this year that accumulated over 90 track and racedays between them,The only failures we had were 1 CDI and 1 ignition switch that was an aftermarket item as the bike had been stolen and recovered and absolutely NO MECHANICAL failures at all.

Yeah, 'cause every bike Hyosung ever produced has been perfect.
You get the odd dud one in a production line. no big deal, but when a piston decides to implode, and takes the conrod and crankshaft with it, on a relatively sedate road ride, 14 months after being bought brand new, you'd expect to at least get a reply to e-mails and phonecalls.

Bikes fail, no big deal, but the customer service I received was the worst experience i've ever gone through, and i've subsequently completely given up on Hyosung, and have actively encouraged the beginners that I do know from buying one.

Good for the Racing scene though.

So why would they add PC's to there Hyo Cup class and break open Pro lite racing right down the middle?

Hyosung will get the rules changed. Power commanders were used on some Hyosungs during the Nationals anyway. I have photos to prove it. They could fit turbos if they wanted,, until they take some weight off those boat anchors they won't get close to a Ninja.

Please note,, All the Billy bikes were as God intended.. If you doubt it,,, look at how slow they were.. Nuff said..

only makes sense to allow Power commanders, seen as you can change the jetting on the carby bikes.
the new ninja's are injected im told so can't hurt.

What a great way (not) to kick off a new national class. Cheating on day one.
I hope any Hyosung rider with a Power Commander competing in a National Pro Lite race had the decency to exclude themselves from the points / trophies.
If people think the rules are bad, then apply to get them changed. When they change, only then change the bike. The only way around it is to run Supplementary rules, I guess that's what the Auckland club are doing.

There are plans afoot to have the power commanders included,As has already been stated by Tim,The new Ninjas are fuel injected as well,But theyrehaving a few problems at commission level agreeing,Fully agree they should be allowed power commanders,But not the auto tune some were running in last years championship as well.As far as which bike is better remains too be seen,Nobody outside of Jared Pike showed anywhere near the commitment Seth Devereux did last season and his lap recordat Manfeild is .4 of a second off what he did last year as he wason tyres that had done in excess of 15 races and 5 test days,The 1.27.2 he did in 2010 was done at his first ever visit to Manfeild,I have no doubt if he was back there again on that bike with new tyres he'd be in the very low 26s.
