"RANGITAIKI MEET UP POINT AND TIME" 05TH NOVEMBER WEEKEND
Meet up point for those coming from NAPIER end of Nap/Taupo highway will be Taharua Road on the coner in the gravel pit, turn off the main highway and wait in the gravel pit at the beginning of the road. Your meet up time with us leaving from Taupo end will be 9:30am. DO NOT exit down the road, we will join you at 9:30am. I will have a trailer available at the service station in the mng to cart any extra fuel and supplies out to Rangitaiki pub. Plse allow for a max of 280kms over our day. No fuel stops between here and Whirinaki forestry camp. So plse use this fuel stop in the mng to top up those bikes, and bring along plenty of fluids also.
Meet up for those coming from TAUPO, will be Mobil Service Station 9 am on the corner of Lake Terrace which is the bottom end of Nap/Taupo highway, we will ride a mix of seal and pumice berms on the way UP the highway. Taharua road is on the RIGHT for those of us coming up this way. We will allllll meet in the gravel pit meet up time of 9:30am.

There are pics of the easy pumice berms to begin with, thru to the wash-outs that will need to be negotiated thru aka (Team Effort) on our Gravel Road Ride out to Whirinaki Forest Camp. Will be good to say a big hi to Duncan at The Buggers Bar at lunch break. Birthday celebrations are also on at Whirinaki............. more on that you will need come join and make your way over to Whirinaki to see what this is all about????

Sorry, but have to pike on this adventureWent for a test ride on the 690 to see how my knee/foot was holding up after the last op, only to find its not there yet
...ok for easy sitting down stuff but cant hack standing or rough (the good) stuff. I'm a bit gutted as was REALLY looking forward to this ride!

We had a fantastic play around and through the forests, those grassy berms look so innocuous from the road, it's a different story when you're riding through them

Nice to catch you up at the weekend,Jim and I will catch you up next time we are down Taupo for another fun day out in the Rangitaiki area; we will keep in touch. Also, will let you know when Jim and I will do that fishing trip in the Kaiangaroa, must make the time to do this shortly, exciting, I have my fishing line all ready, and I even found a fly

Hi, the team had a fun day out, will keep in touch and let you know when Jim and I are down Taupo area next, you might like to join us on a fishing trip we are planning over Xmas/Jan in the Kaiangaroa forestry, I have a couple of spare flys I found just waiting to be attached to our linesCatch you up soon.
