    Fireblade fuel economy?

    Hi all,

I'm looking at getting a 2003 Fireblade after a few years off a bike (last was an 87 GSX 750EB I owned in the 90's!!) - can anyone tell me:

    - Do they run ok on 91 octane?
    - How much (very roughly) to fill up?
    - What kind of range can I expect with commuting over mostly motorway, 1-up?

    Cheers
    Chris

If you're worried about fuel economy, you may consider the Suzuki GN250. It runs on 91 octane fuel and you'll be achieving somewhere in the region of 250km per 8L of fuel around town which is far beyond the 'blade. Hope you found this useful!

I assume that is a 954 blade... which is fuel injected. I had an 01 929 blade and a 07 blade. Both were really good on gas even being thrashed at the track. Capacity was 18 litres I think. Commuting on the 07 I got something like 3 litres per 100km on my usual 48km run in to AKL

3 litres per 100km? So you were getting 600km per tank?

Ha... hang on let me work that out again....

OK try again...I used to do 3 days 48km each way for about 16 litres... 288km @ 18km per litre which equals 5.5litres per 100km. (I think)

Fuck knows how I calculated 3 litres/100kms... I never was any good at maths. Cheers

Expecting an answer of "Bikes have rear tyres? I thought they ran on magic!"
