I'm very biased. I love my ninja to pieces, it's plenty fast, great for lane splitting, super nimble and very confidence inspiring in corners. And looks... well people seem to either love or hate it, and I love it to bits. The stares you get everywhere you go make you grin, gotta land those babes . You get great mileage, I get about 400kms out of the tank if I'm absolutely hooning it, or around 450 if I stay more in the speed limit area

Ventura racks easy to get, I haven't bothered I just shove as much crap in my back pack as possible and that seems to work just fine for me.

See if the shop can sort out these issues you have with carrying gear on the Ninja and I suggest you get that bike. Also, please refrain from calling the 250 Ninja and Hyosung sportsbikes. They are not.
    Ride fast or be last.

So so right there mate. If you go down cbr/zxr/fzr etc.. track, you have to make sure it is a well maintained beast.
Loads of fun and great little machines.

That ZXR 250 must be the GPX 250? Unless the ZXR had something seriously wrong with it.

get a NSR250 or a RGV250. PRoject it and just go nuts when its at its prime. GN250's are horrible. Bad bike. they slow as hell.

Are you seriously comparing a Ninja 250 with a Cbr?
If you want a well maintained superior in everyway bike hit me up, otherwise go for the ninja

Not interested in a project bike atm. that for later in life. at the moment i want a sports style bike that is new as no matter how good quality a second hand item is they seem to fall apart on me.

I suspect it could be the carburettor but have already replaced the chain and power regulator and considering its already uncomfortable for me to ride im not to keen on forking out more cash.
Plus i only purchased the GN250 cause i needed a bike pronto and was told there the easiest to learn on.

So im interested in a sportsbike. Ive looked at the Kawasaki Ninja 250r 2010 (2011 is outside my prices range and i prefer the look of the 2010) and im also looking at the hyosung GT250r.

I have taken the Ninja for a test ride and absolutely loved it. It took corners beautifully and was very well balanced weight wise. The only issue i have with it. Is it does not appear to be capable of having a bag rack or grip bar placed on the back. which is irratating cause i quite often crash at friends when going out for drinks and such and just bungee cord a bag onto the backseat of the GN250. But seems this isnt possible with the Ninja afaik.

That lead me to the hyosung with is capable of both. Plus the hyosung is fuel injected instead of carburettor so will be better on fuel. But ive heard of issues regarding build quality and also heard that the hyosung do not hold there value.

So essentialy if i go for the better bike (ninja) then im screwed if i need to carry a bag on the back. and if i go for one that allows for a bag on the back i could be screwed quality wise.

So. thoughts? is there any sort of solution to the bag problem with the ninja. And is my info wrong about the hyosung.
if you arent getting brand new, get something 2-3 years old, youll save a bit extra over just getting last years model.

As for the kwak and carrying things, look around, someone will do a boly on kit for a pack rack for it, theyre a popular enough bike that there are bound to be systems out there for it.

Hyosungs are starting to pull themselves out of that 'they ar ecomplete shit' category. hen they first came out, they had issues, and some people decided to hate them for no reason other than the fact that they were new. most of the issues have been sorted now though.

As for economy between the two, I doubt youll notice the difference week by week, they are both modern 250cc bikes, I wouldnt bother factoring economy in for the miniscule difference it will make between the two

It was a ZXR, not a GPX. there was also an 08/09 'ninja' 250 on that board as well. and yesm for a near 10 HP difference between the two, I was surprised. DM's bike did well, but its got fuckall kms on it, and he has been the most pedantic 9to the point of being fuckin annoying) cunt about maintaining it that its no surprise it had a great readout

uh-huh. so why were they generally considered as the best learner bike by a huge portion of the biking population for about the last 20 years?
Not everyone wants to constantly rebuild their bike and worry about putting oil in every couple hundred kms etc.
