would be interesting to know if a cage driver under similar circumstances would get the same sentence. In NZ I think I've only heard of people being jailed when a death is involved.

Was a magistrate in Dargaville a few years ago who jailed a DIC guy on his first offence. It was national news at the time. There again, I don't know of the details and circumstances, but it was a precedent nonetheless.
