    Why would you?

Can someone explain to me why you would bid $4450 in an auction when the last bid was only $3040??
I know you can see the bidding history when you check out the listing so...umm...why would you throw a bid in for $1400 more than the last bid?

I note the reserve is at $3500.

I wonder if the winner thought the reserve was going to be $4500

I may be cynical, but that's what i was thinking.
If you put an auto bid in it goes straight to the reserve then starts to climb after that. The reserve was $3500. So i am still a bit confused!

Could be an option. Bit risky i thought. Especially when i'm not too sure if the bike was worth anything close to that.
It still had some damage and re vinning to do.

tiget tim will be right someone has put a auto bid on of $4445 and the winning bidder probably bid a auto bit of say $4500, it would jump the auction to just above the first autobid

Would it not show the first auto bid of $4445 also though.
The last bid was placed at 12.59pm (right on the closing time) and the last one before it was 1 day previous at 10.22 am. Nothing in between at all. Surely if there was an auto bid of any kind, it would have shown up.
