I am looking around for boots at the moment and dont want to spend over $300 so have been looking at all of these sites.
Does anyone know the difference between the Fox Comp 5 boots ad the Fox comp 5 vortex? Also anywhere to get at under $280.
    Any other suggestions?

Only difference is pattern on the vortex. Imo the comp5 is crap, dad and I got a pair and they were toast after less than a year. Although probably not an issue if you never fall off, but we were pretty hard on boots.
There isnt really anything good in the price range your looking at sorry. Might be best to get some second hand expensive boots. As long as they look good on the outside then they are usually ok

Although do price them up at the local dealer and independents (i.e. cycletreads) as well. I have had mixed experiences with AB, they aren't always cheapest.

The aftermarket wheel bearing kits as per my link above, arent expensive, but the bearings arent as high quality as the nachi or ngk bearings you can buy from bearing houses. However the cost of a kit is about the same as one high end nachi, and the kits come with seals too. If you peel back the plastic shield on the bearings in the kit and fill them up with good waterproof grease, they seem to last reasonably well. I wouldnt usually expect bearings to last more than a year or so of hard riding anyway.
