Hahaha, Bikers. We often dont conform.
But theres limits - push the public too far and feel the backlash.
The general population in our fine country dont like blasphemy still. And the Cunt word is still off limits. Litmus test could be - would you wear the shirt in front of your grandparents if they were still alive?
Gang patches, fine - whatever. Police uniform, ok- if you must. A shirt thats sole purpose is to outrage the public - dumbarse.
Child porn actually hurts vunerable people. People choose to be hurt by a slogan. There's a difference.
So did the word "cunt" appear on the shirts or was it as posted?
Because it may be that the word "cunt" was found offensive as opposed to the reference to JC?
but would the "people" want it banned or just the loudest minority like usual???
I might not like it & think the person wearing it is a wank, but I wouldn't ban his option to wear it. It does not 'hurt' anyone further than they themselves are going to let it, so I one of the "people" see no reason to ban it. I'm sure you'd actually find alot of NZ'ers the same, whether it be the majority or not I am unsure, but at the least I'm sure it'd be close.

Like many things, freedom of expression can reach a point where it is 'dangerous' (for want of a better word) to go beyond.
Yes, our forefathers fought for us to have such freedoms. But pop into your local RSA with that shirt on and see what sort of reception you get....
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
Yeah, there's always someone somewhere looking to get offended about nothing much.
IMO getting one's panties bunched up over a jesus fish on a car is about as silly as getting offended over a blasphemous hoodie.
I would not purchase or display either item. I don't know that the problem is about the language either; if the hoodie had used Shane Warne's name instead of Jesus' then the guy selling them would probably have been featured on Campbell live and the front page of the ODT as a human interest piece, with demand outstripping supply.
Keep on chooglin'
