There are 8 spare beds in a shearers quarters approx 30km from Fairlie, self contained, pot belly, all you need is bed linen....
This is Mt Dalgety Station. Keeping it rustic and rural, should be a blast out there, underneath the stars......
I know it a bit out of town, but could be, no will be fun! Get up early in the morning, trundle down the road, by the time you get to Fairlie, you are well and truly warmed up for the next 500 odd Kms riding...

I'm thinkin I'm just gonna rock on up and see what's left. Me, my tent, my bike cover...we'll be sweet...
There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't. We should come home from our adventures having faced their perils and uncertainties, endured their discomfort and beaten the odds, with a sly acknowledgment and revitalised solidarity of character.

Can't go wrong less than a hundy..............and I think, from reading the "guff" that this one comes with a girl to put it up for you- tent is 0.0022 of a tonne but unless she is blow up (and you'd need to ask round the NADS for weight involved in those) she might add a bit??

Reasonable tent. The pole does need to be shortened 12cm else it will not work. The manufacturer/importer deny any problem and say you're not putting it up properly.

You've got to stake out the floor first and the single pole is self supporting.
    Not too bad $$/weight wise.

At the moment, I'll be using mine as I havn't adventure tented since Big River in Feb 2009.

Decided I'm definitely staying in Fairlie again on the Sunday night so have booked the room at the Glad for that night too, so hopefully will be able to catch up with a few people somewhere there around sunset.

Checked out a couple of tweaks to the route over the weekend. Also found a not too far off route fuel option to break up the 290km ish leg. I'm about to work on the route and upload it to the website map and will get the GPS file and roll chart up in the next week or so.

Substituting a bunch of river crossings for one slightly more serious one.

Couple of pics from the weekend. Snow made things a little chilly but fun to ride in.
