In 2011 we dodged crossing the Fairlie river (oooh wet feet) and managed to get temporarily misplaced just 5.8km from the start which wasn't a very encouraging start to the day. I see the route instructions are identical for 2012, so is the farm track at 5.8km identified as Jefcoates Rd on Google Earth?

The Gate to go through is 200m back from Jefcoates Rd.... at S44 06.687 E170 52.933.
By the time you turn left on to Jefcoates Rd you have already turned through the gate and started the climb. Can see the track in Satellite view.
On my maps the spot the gate is at just looks like a corner not an intersection. In real life it looks like an in intersection where temptation is to blast straight past the turn which just takes you to the farm house.

I think Ryans planning to spray and arrow with Dazzel paint or something at that one turn the night before.

Also works if Mr CooneyR puts up the RBF file and you can print it at any size you want.

Needs a cross bar on the handle bars too. Gave it a whirl with the dry glide and electric drill- moves more freely now.

What Transalper said. If you get to the farm house you have gone about 150m too far. I am going to mark this entrance with Dazzle this year, especially if the river is up again. If the river is up I'll probably Dazzle SH79/Tondros intersection as well. I'll talk about this at briefing if I do.

Or just use your printers re-sizing options. Most printer drivers I've seen allow for resizing of pages.

Me and Umopom went through the fairlie river last year and still managed to get lost

One thing with the roll charts and the distances, if you have a digital speedo like a vapor and I think the KTM units, you can incrementally adjust your trip meter forward or back to match the distances if there is a mismatch at a waypoint. Did that make sense?

KTM one's definitely can be adjusted. I use this function when doing the pre rides to make life simpler. KTM sells plug in switches for $150ish, but you can make up a switch set for about $10 using some dick smith switches, bit of flat steel (mount using mirror mount), cable and plugs. The KTM 9X0's are easy enough in that with tiny spade connectors you can just jam them into the plug on the bike. Have to have remote switches on the 9X0's to adjust trip meter 2. EXC's have a different plug on the bike but I though bugger it and cut it off to replace with standard 4 wire plug from dick smith. Don't actually need the switches on the EXC cause the ones on the speedo unit also do the trick but easier with remote switches.

If anybody wants details or photos let me know. Means you can easily adjust trip meter 2, change modes (clock, speed, trip 1 for fuel, stopwatch etc) reset Trip 2 (only on the EXC from remote switches) on the fly. Very handy.

If only I actually had to use the roll chart rather than just relying on memory. Looking forward to the 2012 CCA

Bloody near impossible adjusting the vapor on the fly, well not safely anyway.

Tthe old standard klr trip meter with a dial on the side was way more user friendly, e.g. didn't have to stop to wind it back to zero,

Like me It pays to actually follow the directions instead of trying to make up time by following the guy in front. He may also be lost
