At least with a 120 sprocket you wouldn't need to worry about a flat tyre, just ride the sprocket home, should get 80 kph out of it

This is a good idea. I'm going to see if I can do something similar.

It was easy to make, I used Arial front, bold, size 90 and 50mm wide packing tape to stick it on and make it water proof, has been on there since last DB, piece of cake to make, even bro Andi could do it with one hand.

I have attached a picture of mine to you can see what it looks like.

    Fuel range -

It is important to be self supported on the DB & riders should ideally carry any (extra) fuel they may need, as per the fuel stop chart.
However, if like me you are stuck with a piddly fuel range, PM me to discuss another option on the Lawerence to St Bathans leg.
Please note this is not an "official" alternative to being self sufficient.

Ouwh bash a man when he is down ... I know where you live.

Well I got screwed yesterday, thankfully by an orthopaedic surgeon.

Finger is screwed back together with a 1.3mm Titanium screw, now the waiting/get well/get fit/get physio game starts.

Thanks to Mark (cold comfort) for coming and visiting me before I went in for my chop.

Struan, Ellen flys back in from China I think on Saturday so I maybe able to help with a fuel stop on the Sunday if required, let me know if you need help and I will find out when the boss flys back in.

aye finished it about an hour ago all back together,

I stripped the stearing down & took the barrel off, & had to drill another hole on the opposite side of the barrel to get the tumblers out, something has let go in the stearing lock
once the tumblers were out, I use a large screw driver to put the stearing lock in the off position had to use a fair bit of force to get it back it is now stuck in the unlock....
as I had a new tumbler (in caboard from preivous bike) fitted that put it all back to gether & running

Sorry guys just got to reading my PM from BMWRSNUT. I have been in the shed all day but looks like you have got it sorted. The manual says to drill out the old barrel if you want to PM me with your email address I can send you a copy of the 1100 BMW W/S manual the 1150 is near enough the same with most of the parts. It is 24Mb though not good if you are still on dial up. I may have a S/Hand lock assembly sitting in the shed as well
