Rite bike for my size

Hi,

I am compleatly new to the world of biking and i am really keen on a kawasaki ninja 250 the only problem is im not sure if this is the rite bike for me. i am 6 ft 4 inches and weigh 110kg. could anyone please give me advice on the rite bike for my size

Try the Hyosung 250 a big bike for its capacity, and when youre done you can race it in the class !!

Go to a local bike shop and try some bikes on for size. The Ninja's too small for you.
The Hyosung is a bigger bike and may be more suitable.

Possibly a better option would be an adventure bike - DRZ250, TTR250, XR250, as they are taller bikes.

I'm 5'3" and the Ninja fits well, a little bit on the small size, but still comfortable. I can flat foot it.

Good luck with the hunt, and go try some bikes on for size. The cool thing about adventure bikes is you can take them off-road as well, they're built to cope with being dropped, and a heck of a lot of fun.

6 ft 4? Yeah, Hyosung should be a candidate.

another question is; what is your style? If you are interested in a bit of back country road riding or getting a bit off road then, as Dutchee suggested, an adventure bike would suit your tall frame. A laid back cruiser might fit you. Hyosung have cruisers and road or sports bikes that should be big enough.

Get a DRZ400SM motard. Will be legal to ride on learners by August.

Im 6 foot 6 at ~100kg, of the sport bikes ( if thats what youre going for) I settled with the gt250r. However I also sat on a 1991 zxr250, and it was marginally too small for me, so you might be alright on it.

Add to that list a 2000+ GSXR250...

There is no point in getting such bikes like zxr250s because as of August you will be allowed to ride 650's, 400's and others on learners.

Save those ZXR250s and CBR's for us track junkies

Welcome to KB.
You're not too big, dont stress it. there is an extremely diverse 250cc market out there, so there are several options that you might find youre happy with.
a few options to look into would be the hornet, bandit, vtr250, and the hyosungs as a sportier option, as for the cruisers, well theyre alot less likely to be restrictive due to your size, so youll have heaps of options.

Take a saturday and go look at all the stock in any local bike shops, see these things up close, and ask to sit on a few, this is your best opportunity, to see different examples side by side, and usually if you ask first, theyll be fine with you sitting on them.

Come back with pics when youve chosen your steed!

Also interested to know if there has been any definite release on this info yet? There has been rumour and speculation for yonks... this time last year people were saying wait. To be honest not sure if I would change to something bigger from the bandit or not, as at the moment my prefered next bike would probably be the Bandit 1200/1250... but would be nice to know!

At 6' 4" and 110kg you MIGHT get dispensation to ride a larger capacity bike from the licensing peeps - depends how much of a hurry you are in? Doubt you would get permission for anything much bigger than a 400 though if you are going for a sports bike. Chap on here got an 800... but it is a cruiser not a race bike.

-Edit- For what it's worth I'm 6' and the bandit is ok, but is a little cramped if you want to get down over the bars. Also Naked might not be your thing

Yeah! And the short-arse people like me will be so jealous! Lucky being tall as there are so many limitations when you are short. I would love a bike like that but there is no way as my legs are sooooo short.
