    Kawasaki ER6-F, 650R, EX650 - Who's got one?

    Hi there

Just bought a 2009 ER6-F with 2,300k on the clock for 7 grand. It's mint and I think an awesome price. Just wondered who out there has one and what modifications they've done? Any tips? Riding thoughts? Maintenance or any issues? All comments welcome

There's one of dem out in the gargre, (an F).

It's a nice bit of kit, all I've done to it is made up a composite luggage system for it. If it was the only bike out there I'd be looking at spending a little on the suspension but it's far from deficient in that regard out of the box.

    Good price btw, congratulations.

Yeah it was a great price. Guy I bought it off raced for Kawasaki and did something with the suspension before I bought it so I'm guessing that's sorted. Initial thoughts are the gear change is quite clunky when you're taking it easy but smooth as silk when giving it death. Weird. Also it seems to run really hot around town. Seat heats up uncomfortably quick but Google responses reckon that's common. All in all I'm happy with the purchase

Hmmm I dunno. Ivan is ex New Plymouth Motorcycles. Not sure about his racing background but he's probably on KB somewhere

rode one when they first come out. Suitably impressed. Feels very dirtbikey but enough power to keep it out of trouble. Comfy seat. 4 or so years ago a guy chased us round the 4 points ride on one. 3000 k in 4 days and he got on alright.

Nearly all men can stand adversity and hard time, but if you want to test a mans true character, give him power....

Quite a few of them being converted to adventure bikes in the US. Crashed ones are cheap-as on E-bay, with no shortage of donor bikes.

My wife has a 650r. Hers has a leo vince muffler of medium volume, heated grips and a steibl horn. It came with aftermarket handlebars which were lower than the oe bars. She didn't like them so they were changed back to oe.
I liked them myself, and would recommend something similar depending on the price.
