    My Sunday ride

Lovely day Sunday and I'd done all my chores and "she who must be obeyed" says " well if you want to go for a ride you'd better go now ". Not wanting to be around when she changed her mind I was out that door so fast you'd think they had free Guiness at the local. So on with my nice new wooly jersey, my neck warmer from S41, my lifestyles imports leathers and off I go, finding the longest way possible to see a mate in Paraparamu. I noticed all the traffic heading north after Saturdays rugby but didn't seem too bad at about 11a.m. After a coffee and a bit of a catch up it was back home via the main road as I didn't want to use up all my "brownie points" at home.
Well the traffic had certainly changed by 12.30 . I didn't know there were that many camper vans in New Zealand, all driven by forlorn Lions supporters. In a long stream of traffic I caught up with a lovely Ducati and a cruiser of some kind at Waikanae I think ( KBers perhaps ) If so thank you from the bottomn of my heart for allowing a lowly GB400 to follow in the beatiful sound of your Ducati exhaust for a few minutes . We were able to filter quietly along on the left of the queue of cars ( isn't it great to be on a bike ) until I stopped for petrol . After filling up it was just a quietish tootle home ( I now know that my top speed in fourth is higher than in fifth ) to my loved ones.
Top marks for great gear to S41 and LifestyleImports ( and Manawatu Knitting Mills for my woolley jersey ). Being warm and comfortable on a winter ride certainly makes for a great day

Yep. I can relate to that. The best rides are on a cold clear day. I love to ride in the late avo or early evening when the temp is down to 5 or 6 deg. The gixxer goes so well in those conditions. As long as there is no ice give me the winter any day. When we get to 33 deg here in the Bay it is unpleasant. just to hot. Good on ya.
