Solid plastic L plates - where are they sold?

    Hey Everyone,

So I passed my learners last week and brought a 1990 Yamaha FZR250r

But I cant find any solid plastic L plates for sale anywhere! Only the static ones people use in cages. I must have been to like 10 places looking.

    Any Ideas?

I got mine from Andrew Templeton (Roadsafe) when I did my BHS. Try contacting them about it.

you could glue a static one to i piece of plastic the same size, ie a trimmed down icecream container lid. Yes it sounds cheap and nasty, and it is, but it does work if you use a good glue

Lol last resort, I'll make something ugly.. I'll try roadsafe when I get a chance. Surely there must be a retailer that still sell the solid ones

Get some yellow and black rattle cans and get creative on the rear of your helmet?

Most Rego payment shops have them, M10, repco, supercheap, supermarket, bike shops(sometimes but not often), postshop (sometimes)

Now here is a reason to be wary of your riding skills, you never went through the learners phase did you ?
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

combining ideas from Furyos J and Spearfish glue the static one to the back of your helmet, or jacket. Given the rate at which the solid plastic ones hanging from the number plate seem to break it may not be such a silly idea. I don't know about legal though, should be, but might have the hassle of an occasional chat to just because its unusual.

I didn't even do 30 minutes - 10 minutes was all I did before he passed me!! It is a bit of a joke really

I have my L plates somewhere in the garage - still in mint condition - they never fell off but I probably couldn't go fast enough on the old GN250 to get some wind up...
