Hey Everyone,
So I passed my learners last week and brought a 1990 Yamaha FZR250r![]()
But I cant find any solid plastic L plates for sale anywhere! Only the static ones people use in cages. I must have been to like 10 places looking.
Any Ideas?

I got mine from Andrew Templeton (Roadsafe) when I did my BHS. Try contacting them about it.
White Trash Pearls of Wisdom #2654 - Refering to yourself in the 3rd person: The only thing gayer, would be being caught handcuffed around a public toilet bowl, an apple stuffed in your mouth and George Michael administering an epic caneing to your exposed cheeks while Boy George documents the event on a handicam.
you could glue a static one to i piece of plastic the same size, ie a trimmed down icecream container lid. Yes it sounds cheap and nasty, and it is, but it does work if you use a good glue
Get some yellow and black rattle cans and get creative on the rear of your helmet?
Most Rego payment shops have them, M10, repco, supercheap, supermarket, bike shops(sometimes but not often), postshop (sometimes)

Do the AA still sell them, also heard that the $2 shop have them as well.
.... back in green and feeling great ....
Have you tried the el cheapo dollar stores? Normally they have them in hard back plastic
Most Supermarkets have them...$2 shpos also...
I have one here, new condition, never been used.
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"
Bowls can wait !
combining ideas from Furyos J and Spearfish glue the static one to the back of your helmet, or jacket. Given the rate at which the solid plastic ones hanging from the number plate seem to break it may not be such a silly idea. I don't know about legal though, should be, but might have the hassle of an occasional chat tojust because its unusual.
I didn't even do 30 minutes - 10 minutes was all I did before he passed me!! It is a bit of a joke really
I have my L plates somewhere in the garage - still in mint condition - they never fell off but I probably couldn't go fast enough on the old GN250 to get some wind up...
I know that Countdown in Highbury/ Birkenhead has these.
I went to the $2 shops, repco, supercheap, bike shops, warehouse lol all the static ones. By that stages I was like this is crazy..
AA maybe worth a look though.
Just got some solid ones in paper plus in Birkenhead.
