One more on the Shore (Marc)

So, I had a job on The Shore. Then I got a job in the CBD. Soooo hello commuter bike. That would be a 2011 CBR 250R. The partner already had a CBD job and we wanted something she could ride when she wanted (the CBR is short, and when they get a lowering kit in, it'll be even shorter). So we'll be riding in two-up. After a bit, if she likes riding bikes we'll demote that one to hers and get me a his one (she has a full motorcycle license, but has never ridden a motorcycle on the street - don't ask).

Now I just need to figure out where I can park by work. And get comfortable lane splitting. It's been 10 years since I last owned a motorcycle (1994 YZF 600R) and that was in another country where they drove on the other side of the road.

    Hi Marc, welcome to KB!
Good intro. I cant say Im a fan of Hondaa's, but I do like the idea of the new CBR250 - and im sure its going to be a pleasure commuting on it - even on the motorways here.

sorry, but I do have to ask. How does one get a full bike licence without ever having ridden on the street?. From my recollection it's part of the test.

We came from the US. You can get a full license there from a 2-day class that has some classroom training and car park work.

And I had ridden on the street before I got my full license. I rode to the testing center, and then did my test (pull out of the parking lot, take 4 right turns, pull back in and pass).

The US doesn't test very hard. And it's funny, because here, the testing is harder, and the drivers are worse. How's that happen?

Oh, and for all those who mention Yamaha vs Honda and such, we all know it doesn't matter. Ride what you like, like what you ride, and and complain about other's bikes only when they know you aren't serious. (and we are in a biker forum, we are only ever serious when discussing safety, and even then, not always)

Hondas are great I wish my new bike had all the benefits that my old Honda had - like a clutch that didn't require my thumb to be taped so it doesn't dislocate... and brakes that actually work... oh yeah, and shocks that absorb the "shock" hahahaa
