Effluent on the road

I've made a comment to moto.org.nz about the cow droppings on the Manawahe Road when I rode over it last weekend. I got this reply:

"The current campaign "TEXT DUNG to 244" is running now and we want information to pass to the effluent working group. Stock crossings and the driving of stock on roads is a permitted activity depending on the local council and certain provisions being observed - such as signage and accompanying pilot vehicles. You must have come along soon after this has happened."

I didn't know we could report effluent on the road, so KBers might like to keep the number 244 on their mobile phone contacts list.
