They say absence makes the heart grow fonder

Man you seriously don't realise how much you like riding your bike until you don't have it anymore..

I crashed my motorbike back in April and since then it's been in my garage while I try to find parts to get it running back on the road again. During that time it made me realize just how much I missed riding the bike..

I'd only had it for 2 months and my mates always give me a lot of shit because all I do is complain about how I can't ride my bike, they have to sympathise though, it's like breaking up with your girlfriend, only this one was only a girlfriend of two months.

I've been riding my sisters Suzuki AN125 scooter around in the meantime, it's quite a gutsy little thing, has no problems getting 100km/h on the flat and will comfortably maintain 60 up some steep hills with a pillion, not to mention the fuel economy like it was from the fucking future! It's not quite the same though, like an automatic car, it just doesn't have the same sense of fun a bike does.

I have also noticed that when riding my bike, when riding around I usually stick to the speed limit, however I'm not going to lie, on the scooter I often found myself often going over and travelling a lot faster. I guess theres some sort of a connection between not having power so someone feels like they have to over compensate by speeding everywhere? Boy racers and Sik As Honda VTECS might be the same principle..

Looking forward to riding again, feel quite left out when the months go for rides every sunday and there's me sitting at home feeling sorry for myself. I'll be posting some rides that I do in the future, as I know my only posts so far have been about bitching or crashes Just though I'd share this and have a little rant in between

Anyone else experienced having nothing to ride for a long period of time? What was it like for you? I have no car so it may have made things a bit worse, has having a car made things easier?

Had the same feeling after crashing my older CBR in Feb. Was off for six weeks and the day I got my plaster off I put the bike back together in 'ride-able' condition and took it for a cruise.

The feeling of riding it again after that short period was just something else.
