Bloody arsehats! I'm glad nobody wants to steal a ZZR600D (Shit, I hope so anyway) I hope the lot of the pricks get done, beaten and hanged.

Sounded a bit odd, guy keen to buy it without seeing, and when I told him that i wasn't willing to give out my bank details to someone I had never spoken to, but that we could meet, go to the local ASB where he could give me the cash, and once change of rego was done, he could take the bike.
After numerous txts back and forwards, I gave him a call. He was insistent that he make the deposit first as he was worried about me taking the cash and then doing a runner (did he think this part through first...I mean, I would have the cash deposited AND still have the bike under his scheme) and that he was having to borrow it from his parents. I told him that he could either get me a bank cheque or bring me cash, that was it...haven't heard from him again.

I am sure he was trying to scam me. Almost went along with it to see what they were up to, but then thought better of getting involved in something dodgy.
No offence but that sounds like a 100% legit deal. I've bought several bikes via internet transfer, then go pick it up when the seller is happy the funds have cleared. As a buyer I have always insisted on nothing but cold hard cash, and no test rides till the money is in my hands, and I can eyeball that it's about the right amount. Test rides allowed while I count the cash.

Way more legit than allowing some fuckwit to ride your bike without any of his tangible assets in your hand, that's for sure.

Also, being afraid to give out your bank account number is like being worried someone will break into your house after you've told them what country you live in. It just doesn't make sense.

When things don't feel right, go with gut instinct. The communication and deal felt all wrong. When I googled the number of the clown I was communicating with, some interesting things came up, enough to make me wary of him. He was clearly trying to direct how things went. What's to say I don't show up and have 5 of the clowns forcibly try to take it from me at the meeting? I am not a small dude and more than capable of preventing this happening, but avoid trouble if possible thanks.
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
