Motorcycle training for nube in Tauranga?

I have a mate who wants to get some motorcycle training for his teenage son as he wants to buy a bike real soon. I got help from an experienced rider when learning but wondered if their is specific training for new riders in the area?

I'm not sure whether there is an accredited trainer in Tauranga but there are at least a couple in Hamilton. The one I know something about is Holden Driver Training (0800 855 7521). Wayne Holden runs training courses from raw beginners right through to advanced riders. He's an exceptional tutor and all-round nice guy and he's also an Observer (Instructor) for bikes with the Institute of Advanced Motorists, which is how I know him. He's also Chief Examiner (cars) for the IAM so I guess you could say he's one of the very best

Bill Hadley, phone 543 3067, mobile 027743 377. I did my BHS with him (in the carpark of Mobel furniture in Maleme St). He's a very good tutor, I'm sure he could tailor a program for your friend's son.

Get him to do his BHS, sit his 6L, have some tutoring, then head for the Lakes Industrial Estate over the weekends. Great area for learning to ride a bike, some straight roads for learning countersteering (try weaving through the broken white line) and some roundabouts to practice corners on.

Bill taught my brother and I too actually. I recommend giving him a call. He is a real nice guy and knows his stuff too.

As mentioned Bill Hadley is good. There is another option with a different company which I bloody can't remember at the moment however I have all their info in at work Tom
They have two different styles and it really does depend on the student's disposition as to which one would suit better.
