    Arrow An 'off' near Taupo??

Hi all, has anyone here heard of someone getting 'off' near Taupo on sunday 3rd? Have heard it may have been a Ulyssian but can't track it down at the moment. We have been getting RIPPER frosts down this way and an out of towner without local knowledge of ice blackspots could be in trouble.
Do all take care on our winter roads now won't yuall?

I was thinking of riding up the forestry roads this winter and taking a dip in the "secret hot pool" in Reporoa... we'll be careful of the liken on the straights too, I want to do a speed test up there in the summer months too

Didn't see a thing. I had lunch on the Taupo waterfront and then went home via Kinloch and Whakamaru and only saw one other bike in the whole ride. That was a Ducati on Pohepi Road.

Dont know what its called... wooden surround behind some big trees and in the winter you can see the run off steaming across the farm next-door.
My uncle use to take me there when I was a yound lad... beutiful pool.
My cousin works on the govt farm at the end of Goulie Rd... Bob.

I will post when we head that way next time

Welcome back to the site ducatijim!!

Is Owen Evans the guy with the green/blue Porsche sponsored by the lighting shop (forget their name - "The Lighthouse" or something?). Is he the guy that had that horrific accident at great speed (I think when doing a speed run?) and damaged his arm badly?

Yes thats him, tyre blew at 300+kph doing landspeed record attempt on the aforementioned Goudie road a few years back. Its not far from me and I heard his car doing the runs while out on the farm that day!The remains of the cars body is on display at the Southwald car museum near Waikanae...well worth the viewing..the 'cage' engineer can take a bow!!!!( roll cage that is...not Ferdi Porsche!!)
