    That's being a bit harsh.

At least it wasn't a Hunter.

Shudder - now you have done it, invoked the brown corduroy trouser wearing god (well technically a demon of the outer circle of hell) of crappy english cars that were 'quite good in their day'.... This thread is doomed!

I take your Hillman Hunter and raise you the Singer Vogue. mmmmm badge engineering. had leather seats and a woodgrain dash.

or the Vauxhall Chevette I used to drive in the Post Office. it did wicked handbrake turns and jumps (I'm told)

Then at least with the Singer you were more comfortable while waiting for the AA to come along.

We had a pre Hunter Vogue wagon - I LOVED that car as it was a 'special' made by Rootes rally car workshop and it went like stink, had OD, rally suspension, badge bar, driving lights and a super cool chrome springy thing radio antenna (factory) but dear god was it rusty...

I too 'worked' for the Post Office....I liked the Chevette...very thrashable...and the Mini's especially in the gravel....The Falcons could lay the rubber if you dropped the clutch at high enough revs.... ( apparently )
I'm driving the same type of car I had then....a VW Beetle....

Hey!! I owned one of them

Travelled to a bike racing meeting at Mansfield back in the 80's. Never got to the race track, spent all our accomodation money in a garage at Fielding getting the water pump/radiator repaired.

Lets just say anything BMC were utter crap & worthy of being used for boat anchors only. Mum had a Marina coupe so classy in bright yellow, Yuck.

Well, this is a downward spiral - at least no one has admitted to membership of the Morris Marina Owners Club.... (or any other previously mentioned offensive marques owners clubs!)

I assume you are not a boatie. What skipper in his right mind would use an anchor thats full of rust before it even hits the salt water?
