Took the gf out on saturday for a little cruise to Kumeu for a mean brunch. She only had jeans on her legs so decided to lend her my pants (I had jeans on underneath) for the ride home. Zomg that was cold.

I normally ride to work no matter what the weather since I've gotten the bike a couple of months ago, and normally at least once for a ride during the weekend, but you forget how much difference the gear makes when riding in cold conditions.

Really tempted by heated handgrips now though.

If your legs get cold in jeans, I don't know why you haven't already got heated grips
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

Yup - we headed to New Plymouth , 3 on 2 bikes Saturday and home on Sunday with 3 bikes ( son bought a very tidy GSR) . All back roads to Pio Pio then the gorges to NP. Looked to do SH43 home but looked pretty murky in the hills. Back home same route. Only hit a few spits here n there. Great trip both ways, great Back packers in middle of town - very successful outing. Metvu rules for getting it right most of the time ........
If you don't know where you are going , any road will get you there ............

That would have been a sight, in the cold, if you hadn't had jeans underneath your "pants"...

As for heated grips, that was one of the things I missed about not having my bandit for the trip (even though the katana was actually a lovely ride)

I'm speaking for MYSELF here ... but some things I don't want to "sight" ...

It would seem a BETTER pair of GLOVES would/SHOULD be a better purchase/PRIORTY ...

Yes, smartypants, you are right. My gloves are actually summer ones so it was no wonder my little paws were frozen, even with the thermal liners inside. When I bought them I hadn't really thought in terms of doing middle-of-winter rides; winter glubs will be on the birthday wishlist now!
