    Woodhill 2 man

Seeing as Ktmboy is being slack, I'll start this off... I'm thinking of doing the 2 man this year (31st of this month is it?) and as I've no mates it looks like a solo effort. Anyone got any advice and secrets to share please, bear in mind I'm a 55 year old that thinks he rides faster than he does..

Is this one of my more stupid ideas?

No sounds like a good idea. Best advice is to have fun and not worry where you finish, thats what I do anyway.

The sandpit 2man is a great series for first time racing, as its an easy format thats been pretty popular.
    Broken bikes wanted, pm details

Make sure you hydrate 4-5 days before the race, plenty of carbs, and most important pace yourself, 3hrs without a break in the sand is torture.I will be looking forward to doing solo again.

Thanks for that, it's easy to talk yourself into a race when you really only need a finish.

About sums it up, I can do 2 hours at a reasonable pace but the last hour won't be fun, I'll take your advice about hydration too!

What do you guys use for race hydration? I 've always just used water but I suspect there is better fluids out there.

I found those carbo shots quite good. They do give you a bit of a lift.

Ian - Need a partner? I could be persuaded....
We could even enter the vets class (combined age over 80).
Let me know. I can even bring a pit crew (twin 8yo sons)

Jeez were to start... well firstly the track is done and as always its pretty well all new, except a couple of link ups. We had a couple of helpers on Sunday and there were a couple of novices in there and they got around OK.

There is a hell of a lot of passing options as we have pruned 3-4 trees wide in alot of places to avoid any bottle necks. The tight sections are not really that tight as the Bobcat has widened the track considerably.

Solo entries look like being the biggest class, strange as it is a 2 Man. A lot of lonely people out there

Time will tell but personally I think it could be the best race track seen in that section of Woodhill for some time.

this be a good event for me, if only it were fine/warm, and I wasn't such a wuss, with the first sign of rain.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.
