Saturday morning, riding from Tauranga to Taupo for the Ulysses Rememberance Service, GLORIA's odometer clocked up 29,412 km. As I bought her second hand with 9,412 on the clock, that meant that I'd just completed 20,000 km in the 17 months since March 2010.
i've had a ball, she's my daily ride, my weekend cruiser. I've ridden from Tauranga to Kawhia and back, to Taupo and back several times, several times to Whakatane and home via Lake Rotoiti, Auckland and back a couple of times, and many other day trips (including Tauranga to Mercer once, just for a bacon sandwich).
Planned is a trip with a friend for a stop over in Gisborne via Napier then home via the Waioeka and Opotiki. My riding friends keep asking when I'm getting a bigger bike, but I'm happy on GLORIA. I've just fitted her with Oxford heated grips - apart from her purchase, they're the best investments I've made.
