    2010 R1 headlight condensation?

Does anyone have the 2010 r1 and get foggy headlights. Mine has 450kms on it and the lights fog up constantly, makes for shitty as visibility at night. Is there a fix for it? Thanks

    Hi

    We had a 2009 R1 and currently have a 2010 R1 Demo unit.
Neither of these has had the issue you mention. I wouldn't worry about it, it will be sorted under your warranty. If you want it done sooner take it in before your first service is due.

Had mine for 2 years. Never had that problem.
Tis a Yamahahahaha G. Just thrash it like you stole it. Gixxer 4 ever
It really did look very unloved. Specially as it was next to the R1 that the whole crowd wanted to look at. Gixxer 4 ever

Ask for a new head light unit. They will never be able to get all the moisture back out.

The unit wont be air tight so when the bulbs heat the air inside it expands and escapes. When you stop and the light cools back down the air and any moisture out side is sucked into the unit and trapped.

For a warranty fix would your shop crack the assembly open and goop it back up to see if that fixes the problem or would you just replace the unit?

Have had 2 now...both have had the "problem".
In all honestly it doesn't worry me. My 1098S had it...Brutale 910R and both of my Superdukes too.

My TNAB has the same issue. Something to be discussed with a friendly Suzuki dealer at the upcoming 12,000km service, I suspect.

I Suspected that, but since it's done it from day 1, I thought it to be quite improbable that it would be blocked. Plus I don't want to pull it apart incase the "Non yamaha trained technician" card is played and the warranty fix void. That would piss me off

Indeed...if in doubt, get the tech to suss it.

I can't help but think that you've had a bad run with both of your recent new Yamaha purchases. Maybe you should have bought a Kawasaki?
