    Googles Cam

So i have been looking at Go Pros for a while but in the back of my mind was always the hassle of mounting it. Ive already lost one helmet cam which was ripped from the top of my helmet at desert storm many years ago. This has ended my search

Found the 720 version at Boyds in Hamilton today for around $500. Video quality looked good and you don't have to mount it

Wow, they're getting these cameras into smaller and smaller form factors. Makes you wonder why the Go Pro, Contour etc are still so big. Soon the bulk of the devices will be all battery

V.I.O P.O.V little bigger than a aa battery awe sum mounting system can be ripped off & not lost due to the cable connecting the hand held viewer inside your jacket & its bullet resistant & waterproof

I hit a tree with my Drift HD170 (mounted below goggle strap) and all it did was spin on it mounting and point down, still recording.
I have had lots of things hit the camera and have never even look like coming off.

Drift have now released a new camera that is the same size as the go-pro.

Boyds have a video playing of round one of cambridge looks good he falls off once or twice.

I just like how easy it is. No mounting no wires just select the right googles and press play.

Have read they are quite noticeably heavy, so would be interested to see what you think when used in anger.

My GoPro is generally fine on top of my helmet, but I have knocked it back with a low branch once (didn't come off and no damage though).

Only downside of the goggle cam is you can get a bit bored of the same viewpoint when it's on your helmet, at least with the GoPro and similar, you can mount them on the bike in various places for different angles.

The guy who made the video I posted said that the fit in some helmets can be a bit finicky, best to try them with your helmet, and he also said that the battery cover had a habit of popping off when you push the goggles on so they fit properly, he tried it with a Fox, and a Troy lee helmet, same result with both.
