They may have been busy at the time and I would expect their policy is not to wait around when there are other fee paying customers awaiting service.
Your 15 minutes early is probably closer to 5 minutes early. I wouldn't have made them wait and given them the opportunity to leave
A 1958 bike may have a many issues contributing to the undescribed problem.
I have heard many good things about these guys and will not be negatively influenced by this post.
I've used him, I reckon he's bloody good. They were going to be a bit late so he rang to say so, most tradesmen don't. They did a great job, very tidy, gave great advice, talked about future service needs, bill was very reasonable. OP shot down big time!

I don't see what the OP was on about regarding customer satisfaction. From what it seems like they go out of their way to make a customer happy.

I have personally used Geroge for a number of big and small motorbike service jobs and can also vouch that his service has been outstanding. If something he should charge more. Also I know at least 20 of my close friends are using his services and always rave about the great service.
Always had A+ in my book.
