Bring your motards to the kart track at Mt Wellington

I had an awesome day in the rain on my DRZ motard last weekend. VERY slippery on the Shinko tyres, so fun backing it in and sliding out of corners though! Surprised I only lost the front and crashed it once.

It's only 20 bucks for the whole day. I was the only motard there so had the whole track to myself, would be cool to have had other bikes on the track with me so just wanted to give the heads up for any people who are keen come down and have some fun.

Saturday July 30th @ Mt Wellington kart track. 20 bucks whole day- rain or shine, see you all there!

Na it's just for having a blast on. Motards, buckets and minibikes alternating.

hey man... yea come along! any metal part likely to touch down needs covering whether it be using skateboard wheel, nylon, chopping board or what not. bar ends just use a plastic wine cork or something, levers don't need to be covered apart from if they are already broken. dont think they'd let you on without leathers unfortunately, so a yes on that one. it's on once a month... it's on the bucket meeting weekends, the practice day on saturday.

Yes you will need leathers, the track days are run alongside the AMCC* bucket racing practise day, they operate under gudelines from MNZ** which sets all rules regarding minimum protective gear etc.

hey racefactory, did you have to have any overflow catch can set up?

    No I didn't.

Great to hear you guys are coming along! I can't wait for this. I got some leathers you guys can borrow or buy for cheap if you want. Good for up to 180cm medium build.

Aha, that was You on the 400?
I saw the wee slide...blardy wet track and its bumpy right there....I also saw you taking it gently there the rest of the day untill you started heading in reverse direction - ya got your revenge on that corner

Looking forward to watching Motards again - its good to see.

Awesome man bring the husky along.

Cool looks like we'll have a great mix of everything- some DRZ, KTM 450/525, Husqvarna... this is going to rock. Now we just need a CRF450 and a 2 banger of some sort!

Haha you were watching? Yeah the front felt dodgy in that spot the whole time, sliding out on every lap... I don't know why I kept pushing it there. The other way is a lot more fun, you can back it into the hairpin real good and get the gas on hard around the sweeper onto the main straight sending the back squiggly.
