When I was Linemarking in OZ in around 1997 we drove every back road in Victoria painting centreline and edgeline's. They were 80% straight roads except around the mountains (hills) and we never carried yellow paint. One road took us 4 days to paint centreline from Mt Gambia to Geelong, and you were lucky to see 50 decent corners the whole way. Boooooorriiiiiiiiiiinng!!!
The stop in Mortlake was awesome though, they had the annual buskers festival on and we got hammered!!![]()
Ive just spent the past 3 weeks in the Czech republic and ill agree.
Our roads are pristine. Id say 75% of the surfaces here are completely rooted, to travel a few hundred ks will take almost a whole day. You will pass thru 15 road works zones, which only 1 will be progressing ... Oh and dont forget to add an extra 100km to any trip you make just for detours - not joking.
But it adds to the experience right?
