    V&H pipes?

Hey all, my dad has a cruiser and his birthday is coming up so I'm thinking of getting him a set of pipes for his bike. I was thinking of getting a set of V&H cruzers imported from the states. So, my question is: how loud are the cruzers? (will they pass WOF), and is there perhaps a place in nz where I could fine them for cheaper...cost for pipes and import is $714, and bike is a 750cc Honda shadow c2.

    Thanks for the help

Check TM first for 2nd hand ones, failing that try AMPED (in town) any shop will import for you but if they have to you may as well do it yourself.
I have bought some stuff from Cruiser Customizing & found that it is quite painless (apart from the visa bill).
If the Cruzers are anything like the Straights they will be f**n loud, if they have additional optional baffles, get them. If warrants become a problem find a small shop that does them, less likely to be so fussy about the noise.

It says that the cruzers are supposed to be quieter than the straights. Thanks for the advice, yea I was gona get them from cruisercustomizing but I'll have a look around first.

Thanks for those videos, so I am guessing the Baffles are suggested?

Depending on what you buy, it's fairly easy to do a quick swop between stock and aftermarket for WOF purposes.

For aftermarket, ideally get ones that claim they come with removable baffles. That will solve most problems. Even if to loud with baffles in, you can further pack the exhaust to deaden it further.

I make and modify exhausts myself, and packing with stainless steel wool has turned out to be a cheap and effective method to take shrillness out of an exhaust note, quieten it further, and leave it with a steady low thud for a note.

Dunno if this link will work

Ah ok, thanks for the advice. I think will be getting the V&H cruzers and see how that goes. If they are too loud I'll take your advice, however, they shouldn't be too loud based on some youtube videos I watched and some posts on other forums.

    Hey There
Did you ever go ahead with this?
I am having the same dilema as to what to get or do. My VT750c2 is in mint condition apart from 2 bad patches of rust on the oem exhausts. If you went ahead did you have any issues with WOF or running problems.

Would really appreciate some ideas as I am going round in circles.
    Cheers

While V&H Cruzers are loud, I've never had any WOF or running problems with mine.
