I've been caught out by Sth Island cold snaps when riding before, but it sounds like you know what you are doing. I on the other hand, doh, travel lighter when touring; Sunscreeen, shades, sun hat, togs. Always seem the odd time I leave heavy rain/cold gear at home ...nature has a laugh at my expense.
Friend used to have a family bach at Kaniere. Great for weekend getaways.

Used to have house at castlehill village , epic fun out in the snow before the ploughs went thru on the xr600, used to run a offroad mud/mx tyre, massive rooster tail , all good fun![]()
