which brand of motorcycle do you prefer?
I'd have to say Yamaha, I really like my bike. Not that it's perfect, but every relationship is about compromise, or so they say![]()
However, my first bike, a Honda, was a great bike, and the word is they are comfortable and easy to ride.
AND, honestly, who wouldn't like to own a nice Aprillia or Ducati? I guess in practical terms the Yammy is my fav, but oneday when I'm rich or marry a rich woman (open to offers), I'll get a shiny Duc 999R to sit next to the Aprillia RSVR Factory and Honda CBR1000RR.
Dave.
Oh wait, what about a nice cruiser? I STILL want to test ride a harley, oh nevermind, I could go on ForBeepingEver![]()
Bimota
Laverda
or Harley-Davidson
What kind of half arsed poll are you running here, pal?![]()

This is one of those classic can of worms questions!
Think you could have done with a "Whatever I'm riding at the moment" option as well! Or a "Do you like twins, fours or triples", or "Two or Four strokes"?
Last 10 years or so, I've owned 7 bikes:
1 Honda
2 Kawasakis
3 Suzukis
1 Yamaha
Of those, there was a single, four twins and two fours. But all four-strokes rather than two-strokes.
In that time my wife (she has been riding for 5 years - with a break in the middle) has owned a Suzuki and a Yamaha. One was a single, one a twin, one was a four-stroke and one two-stroke.
So hard to say "I have a favourite" - I've enjoyed each bike - and my wife's bikes as well.
So if YOU can come up with an answer from that lot, you're doing better than me!

No ''other'' in the poll,so poor you,I'll just have to spell it out.
I don't really care these days, they are all faceless perfection motorcycles, paint any name on the tank and I'd believe it.Back when I was young and enthusiastic I was a BSA man,the singles mainly, collected them like a girls selects shoes - oooh,I haven't got one of those,I need one of those.I had a bedroom completly full of BSA parts, you couldn't open the door fully,BSA fans had my place on the ''must do in Auckland'' list...make an appointment first please. When I got a Norton I thought they were pretty damn good too - um,started another parts collection.
Make mine a BSA...mega,just awesome on the mega...

Gilera of course.
I don't have a preference, but it's strange that every time I've been looking for a bike, I've tried a few out, and ended up buying a Honda (six so far).
First bike: Was totally open-minded, then a girl who worked with my Dad was selling her Honda because her leg was ferked. It was a god buy, so I bought it.
Second bike: Was looking for a trailie, couldn't find a suitable one, so I advertised, and a Honda turned up.
Third bike: Having been bikeless for a few years, I was desperate for a bike, but had no money. I 'inherited' a Honda from my brother-in-law, who was given it by a hitchhiker.
Fourth bike: I inherited some money this time. Went looking, saw a nice Ducati 750SS I liked, missed out on it coz I dithered around too much.Saw a very nice RD350LC, but wasn't sure. Saw the VF500 in a shop and lurved it, so bought it.
Fifth bike: Tested a Daytona 750, a Bandit 1200, a VT750 (had a mate who was into cruisers, so checked it out), a FireStorm, and a VFR750. The VFR750 'clicked' with me right away, so I test-rode it again, and bought it.
Sixth bike: Test rode an RF900, a VFR800, an SV650S, looked at a GSX750 and a few other bikes, and bought the FahrtSturm on TradeMe. (I really wanted the VFR800, but it was a bit over-priced, and my wife said it looked too boring).
Next bike: No idea. It'll probably be something better for touring. But if money was no object, I'd buy a 'crosser, an ST1300 or some other tourer, some super-retard or whatever for KombatKommuterKaos, and something Italian to satisfy my lusts/artistic side.
Oh yeah - and it's a stupid poll, because many of us would tick more than one make (even me, who looks like - but isn't - a confirmed Honda fan).

Brutale :cool2:Superb fun
Generally buy Yamahas as I like the way they do things, however would have an RC30/45 as a "bike for my living room"
Because I can......................
What no rat bikes. Sort of like the care and attention to detail, that suggests total neglect of rat bikes.
