    Phillip Island Moto GP?

    anybody been to this?

have recently discovered we have a bunch of airpoints left over, that will expire soon, and Ive thought about maybe using them to head over to the phillip island moto gp.

Anyone else been or considering going? what are ticket prices/accommodation costs etc like?

Do it. It's an awesome event. Stay at the Island...rent a house with a few mates so the cost isn't too nasty. Rach and I rented a gorgeous house right on the beach for $400.00 a night. It slept over ten peeps...had two kitchens etc...decks with fantastic views yada yada yada. Shuttle bus from the door to the track each day for a few bucks.

You'll wet yourself. But take a shitload of warm clothes. It can and often is FUCKING freezing there.

Not sure what this year's costs were but I went with a few mates about 4 years ago. We found it cheaper to hire a 6 berth campervan and camp at the site right opposite the track. Looked at houses etc but liked the idea of a 30 second walk from the van to the track for the racing and also being close by if you needed a break or whatever..just my 2c anyway......whichever way you go, you will have a ball.

My suggestion would be get there early on raceday and grab a seat at Siberia..good view of most of track and a screen in front of you for the bits you cant see
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead
Do not walk ahead as I may not follow.
Do not walk beside me as the path is narrow
In fact FU*K off and leave me alone

ive come across packages for aslittle as $1250, covers accom, food, travel to and fromthe track, a dinner with wayne gardner and a few extras, its a 4day package, ideally id like to spend less though. Just looking at options at the momment though,I really dont have muchcoin, but hey, the flights will be free!

I went with the Honda Riders Club which is now defunct. (Ex?) KBer Swima went on his own and said it could be done in a more basic manner for about half what the HRCNZ trip cost. It was a year or four ago and his trip must've been about $1500 including flights?

He was travelling Melbourne - Phillip Island each day in a bus, videos of the season's GPs shown in the bus on the way. The bus dropped them off right by the stand at Sibera, where his seat was, and picked them up from the same place.

There's a lot of ways to do it at different rates. Your budget won't cover a helicopter to the VIP stand but it should get you in the gate :-) You can walk all around the track if you wish, and the food isn't all hot dogs and chips...
