Kevlar bike pants to not look out of place with a suit?

Hey all,

I have been wondering for a while now if there was a place that does formal looking kevlar pants that wouldn't look stupid as part of a suit. At the moment I wear black Draggin jeans to work and they're thick and bulky. With a formal jacket and shirt/tie it looks pretty stupid. Are there places out there that could either offer what I'm looking for or do something custom?

Do you really want to wear padded pants at work?

I wear full gear with bike pants and jacket to work with dress pants and shirt underneath, and do a little strip when I get to work. Much easier and warmer than trying to find pants that you can wear at work.

I wear my bike pants at work with a dress shirt, but have a pair of dress pants in my draw if I have any meetings that I need to go to, just change before I go..

Kevlar pants aren't generally padded unless you have additional padding put into them.

Those Draggins ones are at the top of the list currently. Not sure if anyone in Auckland carry that particular model though?

wear leather over the good gear and just take it off at work.

you cant carry your suit pants in a tail bag of backpack? It takes a couple of minutes to change.......?

I go to school wearing my dress pants under my draggin'jeans. Takes no time to change! I even carry my dress shoes in a backpack.

I have Ventura now! Givi sucks! :D

Don't your dress pants get all wrinkly and stuff? I suppose I could do that, it just seems like it'd be hot and clammy with two pairs in summer. You're fine because your work is local but I've got about 20 minutes of slow speed filtering to get through!

I've worn it all the way to town and back, no problems ...go try it ... and it isn't that bad - just go and try it out!

Option 1
You could buy kevlar fabric (There are few distributors in NZ, just google it) and get your formal trousers lined with them. The downside to this is that you have no impact protection and your formal trousers will shred pretty quickly if you hit the tarmac.

Option 2
Buy under armour protection pants like the one in the photo. Although your formal trousers would still shred if you hit the tarmac, you still have impact protection.

Recommendation
ATGATT - Take a change of formal wear with you to work and change there.
