WTF? 8,630 bikes for sale on TM!

Just had a count up on Trademe and there are a total of 8630 motor bikes for sale ....I know some are trail bikes etc....but does anyone know if that is high????

I have my bike for sale and started wondering why I had not even had 1 inquiry even though it is in 15 people watch list and then realised 1/2 the MB in New Zealand are for sale???

Are there more bikes for sale than not for sale I wonder to myself...........

Aside from the fact that a large percentage of those for sale on Tradme are NOT road legal (even if they are ROAD bikes ...) there will be more than 16,000 motorbikes on the road ... LEGALLY ...

Don't forget many of those are Dealer Listings.
I would say it is about average.... Of course, I have no trend data to back up that statement.

Around 8000 is not overly high.
What is interesting is the amount of time some of them have been on there, and I don't think most of them are that over priced,,it's just that I have no money

    5360 are quads.

    1500 are dirt bikes.

500 have been priced by people who haven't caught up with the GFC yet and still think people have money.

500 are "classic" heaps of shit that must be made of gold and the hair saved from concentration camps.

The rest are all those people who have a clue about "value" but have decided that the 2500kms a year they do is costing too much in rego, so "this bike has to go because SWMBO said so/new baby on the way(what did they do with the old one?)/need to buy a car/yadda yadda yadda."

I found one honest one where the guy is selling his low km 2001 yellow Monster 750 because of a major leg operation. If the picture of the prosthetic leg complete with running shoe is anything to go by, his leg may have fallen off.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Lmao, I love the super cheap bikes, with the new paint job, and its less than 10 years old, only shows one side, and had burn marks on the back of the plate and what have you,
then it says "Moving to Oz, need to sell asap."
There was a VFR 400 NC30, well its still there, black on polish.. 6 months ago he had to sell it as he was moving, now he wants to swap it for a ute haha

Some people will say anything for a sale.
The truth will always come out though.
