If you can keep your head when all about you are loosing theirs.........it's quite possible you haven't grasped the situation.
It's known that drum brakes can be made to stop very wellI suppose it's easy/cheaper to do a disk brake set up that works just as well or better.
Fond memories of the drum on my GN dying halfway down the 'takas because I was bored and sliding it on the brake. Got really boring when that shagged out![]()
Discs generally cool better, and are better in the wet. A drum brake full of water ain't much fun. I use a twin leading shoe setup on my RM400 vintage bike, and it stops as well as a disc...just don't have any front brakes after doing a water crossing for a while till it dries out.
